Private house in Pedroso, Vila Nova de Gaia. The study started March 2005, with planning permission in September 2006. On-site work started in October 2006 with completion due on September 2009.

The plot has a total area of 3790 sqm, and the house a 320 sqm footprint area. In terms of massing we assumed that the building expresses itself mainly as a U placed on the ground, along the longitudinal direction of the plot and on a north-south axis.

The functional structure is based on two principles: 1. private areas that develop around a central courtyard, and on which all the private and work areas are placed. 2. social areas consisting mainly of two living-rooms, that open up to the landscape.
